Do You Really Need a Grill?

Our fully-cooked country smoked sausages make your life that much easier.

It’s our guess that if you’re reading this, you enjoy grilling. We know that there’s nothing in the world like grilling outdoors and there’s nothing better on the grill than Uncle Johns Pride smoked sausage. Unfortunately, getting out and grilling isn’t always an option. Sometimes, you just have to get out the old skillet and do your grilling on the stovetop. While that may be unhappy news to some, the good news is that our fully-cooked smoked sausage delivers on that outdoor-grilled flavor. And that goes back to the expertise we mentioned earlier. It’s because of Uncle John’s employees like Johnny Pellegrini, our smokehouse master and chef. Johnny’s a graduate of “Smoke University,” (Alkar Smokehouse School in Wisconsin) and has been with us for about 25 years now. When you put one of our smoked sausages in a recipe and prepare it in a skillet, you can rest assured that you’re going to get a great smoked sausage flavor. And, Johnny is just one of the people you can thank for that.

Speaking of recipes, here’s a simple, pan-fried sausage recipe that takes just a few ingredients: some Uncle John’s Pride sausage, some cut vegetables, a sandwich roll, and a hot skillet!  It’s a favorite of ours… and one that, if it isn’t already, will be a favorite of yours once you try it.

Smoked Sausage Sandwich

 What you’ll need:

  1. Uncle John’s Pride Sausage (for best results use our Mild, Hot, Beef or Jalapeno Cheddar)
  2. Green Peppers
  3. Onions
  4. Olive oil
  5. Fresh buns
  6. Condiments of your liking

What to do:

  1. Put a drizzle of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add peppers and onions and cook until tender and golden, then remove from pan.
  3. Place the sausage in the skillet.
  4. Cook until warmed through and crisp. Roughly 10 minutes.
  5. (Optional) Split your bun open and toast for serving.
  6. Add sausage to bun, then put peppers and onions and any condiments on top.
  7. Enjoy!
